These seem to be decent quality spring bars but I have not busted any spring bars since I was in the Navy and destroyed a watch due to a broken spring bar so am apparently not too rough on them normally. This set, and a set of 1.5mm diameter spring bars should cover most mens watches requirements. No guarantees though!
These spring bars are 1.78mm nominal diameter which is too large for some watch bands and too small for others, providing a sloppy fit in the latter case. Watch spring bars are made in diameters from 1.1mm to 2.5mm. Unfortunately few watch bands list what diameter spring bar is optimum and many bands do not include bars with them.
Most mens watches need 1.5mm or 1.78mm diameter bars. Seiko dive watches and bands are typically made for 2.5mm spring bars and the Seiko factory dive watch spring bars have special ends intended for drilled through watch case lugs. Rolex spring bars are also designed for drilled through case lugs and are typically 2mm in diameter with a larger than usual diameter end. There is no standardization unfortunately.
